Discussion Forum Rules and Procedures

For each assigned reading selection, each student must make 1 post completed in a well-developed paragraph and at least 1 comment written in a complete sentence in response to peer’s post.

  1. Stay on topic and search old threads to refrain from repeating ideas.
  2. Return to the conversation regularly to read and find new post to comment on.
  3. Provide textual evidence to support a concurring point.
  4. Provide textual evidence to support a refuting point.
  5. Use formal English so everyone can read and participate.

Faith - Ann Whitehall September 11, 2017 My favorite part in the story "My Favorite Chaperone" is when Maya mistranslated the principal's word to her father. This is my favorite part because Maya saved her brother from receiving a harsh punishment. For example, in the text it states, "The other boy, who is very bad," I translated for Papa, "is not allowed to come to school for two days and his parents must punish him. Nurzhan must stay home, too. But he should not be punished so much."
